Service Provider and Advisor requirements

Required resources:

• Everyone needs common sense, to be personable and reliable
• Our name is a bit of a give-away but you must be 18+
• You need to be able to upload ID, proof of address and proof of insurance (we can advise on this)
• You must have a bank account so we can pay you
• A smart phone, tablet or computer to interact with us; we do talk as well!
• A basic DBS check (Advisors)

Qualification wise:

• Advisors, handy men or women - no particular qualifications but a good aptitude and the ability to resolve problems
• Plumbers - a minimum of 5 years experience
• Electricians - membership of a Competent Persons scheme
• Gas technicians - registered with Gas Safe.

Our part time Service Providers are self employed and need public liability insurance, usually from £100 a year. Ask for £2m as this is now the norm. Quite a few insurance companies offer suitable public liability insurance but do let The 50plus know if you need help in locating a suitable provider.
